Saturday 20th gameweek in the Kenyan league saw results which to some were shocking. The matchday started off with a win for Posta Rangers two goals against Mathare United. The second goal was rather contentious as the ball did not seem to have passed the line despite the referee giving it. So it has become alarming how Simba Sc of Tanzania do things when it comes to their home matches. This trend is not solely on Simba only but in Tanzanian clubs in general. Covid-19 came and some clubs decided it would be their weapon to win matches. Yap!! This is AFRICA! From the Chan 2020 where Cameroon used this tactic against Dr Congo , to Sudan for Kotoko, Tanzanian clubs have become notorious. Former Simba Coach Sven before resigning was quoted saying that covid 19 would be a great weapon in African soccer. And he was not wrong. Wrong Covid-19 results has seen clubs such as Platinumz of Zimbabwe ,Nigerian champions and now El Merreikh of Sudan now cry foul . Caf promised that impartial medical team would be provided but that remains a dream. It is high time this trend is stopped because Covid may be here longer than we think and we don't want it to stipulate African football.
